How it works
From label to verdict in three steps
No expertise required. No confusing ratings. Just a direct answer about the specific food, for your specific pet.
Snap the label or scan the barcode
Take a photo of any pet food ingredient list or scan the product barcode. Works on bags, cans, pouches, and treats — any brand, any store.
We check every ingredient against your pet
Pawpoy cross-references the full ingredient list against your pet's profile — breed, age, weight, health conditions, medications, and known sensitivities.
Get a clear verdict — then ask follow-up questions
You get a plain-language pass/caution/avoid verdict with the reasoning. Then use the built-in AI chat to ask anything: 'Is this better than what I bought last week?'
Why Pawpoy
Built different from the ground up
There are generic pet food rating apps. Pawpoy is the only one that reasons about your specific pet.
Personalized to your actual pet — not average ratings
Generic pet food apps rate products for a hypothetical average dog. Pawpoy knows Max is a 5-year-old overweight Labrador on joint medication. The verdict accounts for all of it.
Covers both dogs and cats
Most apps pick a lane. Pawpoy handles dogs and cats with species-specific ingredient databases — including propylene glycol and taurine rules that differ completely between species.
Full health records in the same place
Track medications, vaccinations, vet visits, weight, and glucose readings. Everything your vet needs is already organized — and you can share a report link in one tap.
AI that remembers your questions
After every scan, you can ask follow-up questions about that specific food. The AI has the full context — your pet's profile plus the exact ingredient list — not just generic pet nutrition knowledge.
Shareable vet reports, one tap
Generate a token-gated link to your pet's health summary. Your vet sees medications, vaccinations, weight trend, and recent scans — no app download required on their end.
Lost-pet QR tags built in
Generate a QR tag for your pet's collar. Anyone who scans it sees your contact info instantly — no app, no account. One less thing to worry about.
Everything in one place
More than a scanner
The verdict that goes beyond the label
Upload a photo or scan a barcode. Pawpoy reads the full ingredient list using computer vision and AI, then cross-references against a curated database of 10,000+ ingredients. The result isn't a generic score — it's a reason, tailored to your pet.
- Works on any brand sold in any country

They stopped guessing
"I never realised BHT was in my dog's food until Pawpoy flagged it. The fact it explained exactly why it flagged it — and why it matters for a senior dog — made me actually trust the verdict."
Sarah M.
Owner of Riley, 11yr Golden Retriever
"My cat has IBD and I was constantly second-guessing every food change. Now I scan before I buy. The carrageenan warning alone saved me a vet visit."
James K.
Owner of Luna, 6yr domestic short-hair
"Having all her records in the same app as the scanner is the part I didn't know I needed. I shared the vet report link before her appointment — my vet loved it."

Pawpoy offers general guidance, not veterinary medical advice. Always consult your veterinarian for health decisions about your pet.
Are you a veterinarian or clinic?
Help clients arrive informed. Give clients answers between visits. Shareable Pawpoy reports reduce the "is this food okay?" calls and let you focus on what matters.
Is Pawpoy free?
Yes — Pawpoy is free to start with 5 scans on signup, no credit card required. Credits let you run scans; health records, reminders, and vet report sharing are included for free at launch.
Is this medical advice?
No. Pawpoy gives general guidance based on publicly available ingredient safety data and AAFCO standards. It's a tool to help you make informed purchasing decisions — not a substitute for veterinary care. Always consult your vet for medical decisions about your pet.
Which pets does Pawpoy support?
Dogs and cats, with species-specific ingredient databases for both. The safety rules differ between species — for example, propylene glycol is banned in cat food by the FDA but permitted in dog food, and cats require taurine supplementation that dogs produce naturally. Pawpoy applies the right ruleset automatically.
How accurate are the scan results?
Scan verdicts are based on a curated flagged-ingredient database (regularly updated), AAFCO feeding guidelines, and your pet's profile. The AI cross-references these against the specific ingredient list you scan. Like any tool, it's most accurate when your pet's profile is complete — age, breed, weight, and health conditions all affect the verdict.
Does Pawpoy work with barcodes?
Yes. You can scan a product barcode for instant lookup of known products in the database. If the product isn't in the database, you can take a photo of the ingredient list instead — Pawpoy will read it with OCR and run the same analysis.
How is my pet's data stored?
Your pet's data is stored securely in Supabase (Postgres, hosted on AWS). Your account data is never sold to third parties. Food scan data may be used in aggregate to improve the ingredient database. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the settings page.
Can I use Pawpoy for multiple pets?
Yes. You can add as many pets as you like. Each pet has its own profile, health records, and scan history. Scans are personalized to whichever pet you select before scanning.
What is a shared vet report?
Shared vet reports are token-gated links you can generate for any pet. The link gives access to a read-only view of that pet's health summary — medications, vaccinations, recent vet visits, and weight history. Your vet doesn't need a Pawpoy account to view it. The link expires when you revoke it.
Your pet can't read the label.
You shouldn't have to decode it.
Scan your first label in under a minute. No credit card. No setup. Just a clear answer about whether what's in that bag is actually right for your dog or cat.
